chi.mp is the collaborative effort of companies, groups and individuals dedicated to the principles of Ownership, Data Portability, Open Social Web, Open Stack and Portable Contacts.

Chi.mp Owner Bill of Rights

1. Your chi.mp site is about you - not us.
2. You own all the data that you put on your chi.mp site - not us.
3. We won't email or communicate with any of your friends without your permission – they're your friends, not ours.
4. We won't sell any of your personal identity information to 3rd parties – you own your identity.
5. Advertising won't appear on your public profile unless you want it to – it's yours.

Corporate Overview

The chi.mp platform and the dotMP Registry / Registrar are both owned and operated by Saipan DataCom Inc. (SDC) a Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Corporation. Through an agreement with the CNMI Government, chi.mp is able to provide, for free, a .mp domain with each site registered using the platform. SDC has offices located in both Saipan and Hawaii.

SDC HAWAII, LLC, a Hawaii limited liability company, develops the software for chi.mp and dotMP Registry / Registrar. SDC HAWAII’s offices are located in Honolulu, Hawaii.

CNMI

The CNMI is a United States Commonwealth located north of the U.S. Territory of Guam in the western Pacific Ocean. The Commonwealth consists of a number of islands, the largest of which is Saipan. The Commonwealth is part of the United States and subject to U.S. Federal Law and its own local laws.

Community

We believe in being good corporate citizens and as such are in the process of setting up two funds to benefit the CNMI community. The first provides support to CNMI children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, especially those who must travel to seek treatment. The second will provide high-tech learning opportunities to students with in the CNMI.

  Gib Bintliff Founder, Chairman and President

  Gib provided the early vision for chi.mp and dotMP and structured the long-term contract with the CNMI for the .mp TLD. Gib is also responsible for our long-term strategy, capital formation and investor relationships. Additionally, Gib is responsible for the creation of the CNMI IT Education Fund, a fund that will provide high-tech learning opportunities to students in the CNMI, and the Ileiana Fund, which will provide support to CNMI children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, especially those who must travel to seek treatment.

  Mike Curtis Chief Operating Officer

  Mike is responsible for chi.mp’s operations, finance and business intelligence functions. Mike has recently left a 20-year career in banking to pursue the adventure of becoming a chi.mp entrepreneur. During those last two decades Mike led many different financial services companies to major improvements in their efficiency, profitability and risk management while serving as an officer, consultant and regulator.

  Anthony Eden Chief Technology Officer

  Anthony Eden is responsible for the implementation of the chi.mp application, the DNS and the registry. Anthony has lead numerous software development teams throughout his career and has launched a variety of web applications. Anthony is also a regular contributor to open source projects.

  Responsible for managing the business development functions for chi.mp and the .mp domain. Key focus is managing the rationalizing process with potential alliances and partners needed to deliver and sustain the differentiated value propositions. In addition, Zielke manages the strategic relationship process with targeted partners to enhance our company’s provisioning and revenue models.

  Matthew shares responsibility with the rest of the team for development of the chi.mp application. Matthew has been involved with the Ruby and Rails community for over two years and is a frequent member of his local Ruby Users Group. He has also presented at his local Ruby Users Group, the first Barcamp Orlando, and his local Linux Users Group.

  Ken is a serial technologist and an open source advocate. Ken discovered Ruby on Rails almost by accident several years ago and knew instantly that this was a technology and philosophy worth pursuing. He is a sporadic blogger, an unpredictable tweeter, a recovering SCUBA instructor, an erstwhile master of vessels steam and sail, but most of all, a devoted husband and father. His son thinks he's cooler than anything. Who are we to argue?
